MICHEL FABER was born in Holland, brought up in Australia and now lives in the Scottish Highlands. He has won several short story awards including the Neil Gunn, Ian St James and Macallan; Some Rain Must Fall (1998) won a Scottish Arts Council award as well as the Saltire First Book of the Year Award, 1999;
Under the Skin, his first novel, was shortlisted for the Whitbread First Novel of the Year 2000, and has sold to 14 countries. Faber is also the 200I recipient of a London Arts Foundation Fellowship for short stories.
