Extra informatie
A beautifully produced and illustrated volume celebrating the thirty-fifth anniversary of the innovative and influential Italian trade fair. The first Salone del Mobile hosted just over 300 exhibitors and drew more than 10,000 visitors. It provided a venue for Italian home furnishing designers to bring their creations to the attention of the world market. By 1996 the exhibitors numbered 2,000 (including furniture makers, furnishing companies and lighting manufacturers), with 150,000 business people attending from around the world. The show is now a major multi-national showcase. The book is packed with photos, color and black & white, of sleek, sexy, sumptuous designs. There are two introductory essays, “The Meaning of a Story” by Manilo Armellini and “The Privilege of Topicality: The Salon del Mobile” by Ornella Selvafolta. The main texts are by Laura Lazzaroni and Paolo Mastromo
